Indonesia is the third largest democratic country in the world with a republican form of government and a president at the head.
There are currently nine parties represented in the local Parliament. The ruling party has 22% of seats, the other parties have on average 10%. So after all, you have to conduct dialogue and negotiate with everyone.
The President is elected by direct secret ballot for a maximum of two five-year terms. In the last election of 2019, current President Joko Widodo gained neither 146% nor even 87%, but only 55% of the votes.
The Indonesian government are really intelligent and decent people. Minister of Finance alone, Muliani (the Director of the World Bank in the past) is worthwhile. Neighbours, sports buddies and other unclear personalities are not represented in here.
Peaceful demonstrations can be held and they don’t beat participants.
